BUCHAREST: Amber Studio has opened its eighth office in Warsaw, Poland. The Romanian gaming company is now running two studios in Romania (in Bucharest and Botosani), as well as one in Warsaw (Poland), Ukraine (Kiev), USA (San Francisco and Los Angeles), Canada (Montreal) and Mexico (Guadalajara).

WARSAW: A total of  26 projects have been selected from among 95 projects from 27 countries for the upcoming edition of the Kids Kino Industry coproduction forum, set to take place in Warsaw / online 27 – 29 September and online on 30 September 2022. The number of submissions is a record in the history of the event. 

BRNO: A total of 243 documentaries from more than 50 countries have been submitted to the 48th EKOFILM International Environmental Film Festival set to be held in Brno, Czech Republic 12 – 15 October 2022.

BRNO/PRAHA/ČR - This year's 48th EKOFILM international environmental film festival will offer a cardinal spectacle. A total of 243 documentaries from more than 50 countries have entered the competition. This year, the United States leads the way with 34 entries, followed closely by Germany with 27 films. The Czech Republic is putting forward 20 documentaries. The dramaturgy team will select the 25 most interesting films from all the entries next month to enter the final competition. The oldest environmental film festival in Europe will take place in Brno from 12th to 15th October this year.

95 projects from 27 countries have been submitted for the pitching sections of the Kids Kino Industry forum, which is the absolute record in the history of the event. The most promising 26 projects have been selected for the pitchings and they will join the previously preselected winning project of the Kids Kino Industry Exchange Award. The event will take place from the 27th to the 29th of September (Warsaw/online), and on the 30th of September (online).

NICOSIA: A total of 41 films from 21 countries will screen in the official selection of the 21st Countryside Animafest Cyprus  Views of the World. The main animated films festival in the country will be held 10 – 13 August 2022 in the village of Platanistia.

VENICE: The Ear / Ucho, a Czechoslovak production from 1969 directed by Karel Kachyna has been selected for Venice Classics, which returns this year to the Venice International Film Festival of La Biennale di Venezia after the previous pandemic years when it was hosted in Bologna by the Il cinema ritrovato festival and in the historic city centre of Venice.

SARAJEVO: Nineteen young producers from 12 countries have been selected for the first edition of the CineLink Producers' Lab, which will be held 12 - 15 August 2022 within the CineLink Industry Days at the Sarajevo FF.

BUDAPEST: Kevin Spacey will not play the lead in 1242: Gateway to the West directed by Hungarian director Péter Soós and set to start shooting in Hungary on 17 October 2022.
